Meet Artemis Team Member Christina Koch

NASA astronaut Christina Koch is a member of the Artemis Team, a select group of astronauts charged with focusing on the development and training efforts for early Artemis missions.

Through the Artemis program NASA and a coalition of international partners will return to the Moon to learn how to live on other worlds for the benefit of all. With Artemis missions NASA will send the first woman and the next man to the Moon in 2024 and about once per year thereafter.

Through the efforts of humans and robots, we will explore more of the Moon than ever before; to lead a journey of discovery that benefits our planet with life changing science, to use the Moon and its resources as a technology testbed to go even farther and to learn how to establish and sustain a human presence far beyond Earth.

On November 30, 2020, it was reported that NASA and Lockheed Martin had found a failure with a component in one the Orion spacecraft's power data units. Engineers working on Orion stated that it could take months to replace the component casting doubt on whether NASA can launch the Artemis 1 mission in November 2021. However, NASA later clarified that it does not expect the issue to affect the Artemis 1 launch date.

Along with hard work you were also lucky in getting this one in a million chance. Congratulations for making every woman proud! I wish I too could someday become an astronaut. I remember looking at the stars when I was very young, But sometimes due to borders and geography you cannot make it through. Belonging to Asia, I could not fulfil this dream into reality but I never give up though, putting my efforts into a youtube channel where I show up the wonders of space, ''Space Savants''. Becoming an astronaut and landing on Moon is the biggest dream my eyes have ever seen. Go on young lady!
