On 24 February, it will be two years since Russia invaded Ukraine in its so-called "special military operation".

Since then, Russia's war has brought death and destruction to Ukraine, with the Russian military suffering huge losses, too.

Russian towns, like Ukrainian towns and cities, have been shelled and come under drone-attack.
The International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russia's president for alleged war crimes.
And now, Vladimir Putin's most vocal critic, Alexei Navalny, is dead.

BBC's Russia Editor Steve Rosenberg takes a look back at what's changed since the war began.

After severe sanctions, Russia is fighting with very low morale soldiers armed only with shovels and pitchforks. Somehow they were able to defeat the Abram tanks and HIMARs. As i understand it, western tanks are especially vulnerable when poked with farm equipment. I think the real game changers were the shovels and pitchforks

Who denied cooperation and partnership? Who denied Russia's NATO membership? Don't portrait things in black and white, there was Donbass since 2014, and you should have start from then, not from 2022

Only the opening remarks were needed to know that this was just the usual propaganda.

I'm surprised that Russophobic Steve Rosenberg is still allowed to report from Russia!

What a weird twisted news article. I moved to Moscow from England. As you can see from my videos, it's not as the west is told.

The question should be asked is - How two years of war in Ukraine changed the west. A war against 2 nuclear powers - china and russia - wouldnt end well as the west imagined.
