It's stupid to say that movie choreography somehow correlates to real fighting ability.

Bruce Lee wasn’t just an actor making movies. He was truly expressing himself to the world. His punches and kicks were authentic. He was a martial artist first and an actor second.

As a boxer from 1971 to 1996 (25 years of boxing and coaching) i can honestly say i have never saw anyone as fast as him. He was awesome.

I speculate that Bruce, being the superlative martial artist that he was, knew the difference between "fighting for the camera" and real fighting. The distances, the timing, the strikes, everything. After all, he fought often as a pre-teen and teenager, right? So imagine the real world experience coupled with his martial art developed as an adult...
Thank you for the footage!

It’s easy to fight like Bruce Lee when the script writers and directors tell then bad guys to fall down. I can definitely respect Bruce’s martial arts skills, but let’s not forget that in his movies he was acting to accomplish an affect.

I feel
Bruce was an advance practioner of 4 martial arts streams
Kung fu, winchung, judo karate skills with acrobatic talent
Due to which he innovated his own style that was jeet kune do intercepting fist. He was a MMA founder king and flowed with styles, he was a martial arts versatile, something like those good in maths can perform well in physics, chemistry and statistics & other related streams

Bruce lee remains to this day and beyond a tough act to follow Jean Claude van damm, chuck norrus, stevan segál did a lot fir the martial arts genre and made a log of movies between them but no one had the charisma or magic that bruce lee had I remember the cinema being choka and tight it was as if we were going to see him live

As someone who was around in the sixties and has observed fighting culture before and after, it's interesting to me, how, popular opinions as to what "a good fighter" is change. Almost up to the sixties, a good fighter used his fists, then in the sixties and seventies, a good fighter was expected to kick, head butt, elbow. Now a days, as a result of UFC, a good fighter rolls about on the floor with his opponent and actual martial artists are mocked.

A true master never reveals his secrets but teaches those who are willing to learn his ways. Bruce Lee had real fighters taught under his belt and that definitely says more than enough about him being the real deal. That’s an undeniable fact

Bruce was an actor that played a fighter. None of his fights were real ... ever. He was a great 130 lbs actor that played a part. Maybe he could compete in his weight class if he tried. We will never know as he would not enter and compete against real fighters. He was a very good armature in the 130 class.
