Every natural stone is different. Some need sealing regularly, some don’t. Most are resin filled now a days. What is sold commercially as granite is often not scientifically granite. Same with marble and quartzite(not to be confused with engineered quartz). Take a sample piece and submerge half of it in a bowl of liquid for couple hours. If it darkened or absorbed liquid.. then probably should be sealed. Natural quartzite is where the beauty and strength is in my opinion. I am a stone crafter and slab dealer, if it matters.

Quartz is not more resilient than granite as indicated in this video. Granite is a stronger material and could withstand heat up to 1200°F unlike quartz which can only withstand heat up to a couple hundred degrees Fahrenheit. As far as strength, ask anybody who installs countertops. Granite takes longer to drill then quartz. Why? Because granite is stronger than quartz....
