I am certified professional Java programmer, and just when i got my certification and became comfortable with the language i landed a job as a full stack web developer in a small startup that im cofounded with two more people, and im now a lead developer in my company. We build AI tools. I studied and specialized in Java for a long time, passed its certifications, and simply used it to code for fun some desktop and a few android apps i published on Google Play, because im a big code junky 😁. I dont regret doing this deep learning and going through fundamental concepts of a particular language, because it clearly helped me to develop my core coding skills and develop a nice programming mindset for me where i can now pick up any programming skill or a new language as i work through projects, basically in real time. Programming is programming, if you know one, your know them all. So for complete newbies, if you want to study first, work on your fudamentals, then throw yourself into the waste jungle called the IT industry, go right ahead. You can do no wrong. If you trully love what you do and you are dedicated enough, you will for sure succeed. 👍 And 👍 to this channel as well, always delivers.

Man I love your channel! I always said you don't need graduation to create something innovative. I'm currently a hobby programmer creating web apps, but in my daily life I'm a server side leader in a tech company with 8 years experiance and no degree. Keep making these videos! Seriously, you brought developement more closer to me than any other content I've ever watched.

cs degree does not teach us CS. It teaches how to learn CS on your own, gives you friends.

While I do think Universities give you solid foundations on low-level computer stuff and Math which can be beneficial in the long run, the curriculums are too scattered to really get a firm grasp on anything. Whereas bootcamps, if it's a decent one, you will at least get a firm grasp on OOP programming.
