I’d recommend getting a legit woods bike like a YZ250x or KTM 300xc and start riding woods. It will greatly improve your adventure riding to the point you’ll look at this current video and realize how perfectly smooth and maintained the road was. Keep pushing it. Ride by yourself you’ll be just fine. SEND IT!

1:35 When you carry all the gear you need for self rescue you will not be so apprehensive anymore! When I had my 2019 Africa Twin I had a massive emergency kit that lived full time on the tail of the bike! No worries! Go anywhere without hesitation!

I went from dirt as a kid, to only riding sport bikes and then heavy into track riding for 8 years to now go back to dirt a year ago on a ktm 690 enduro and I know how you feel lol. On a track, you feel a slip in the rear, it can be a pucker moment, off road that is just the norm constantly and it was scary for the first ride to try and get used to not having traction again.

Most adv bikes dont come with skid plates. One thing i can suggest is a bigger gas tank. I have a blue 2024 T7 so i am happy with your choice

Chase, I’d suggest a clinic by Tom Nagle of MotoWayz. Get with Cushman, he can put you in touch. He’s a good dude. We both took his clinic and got something out of it. I don’t want to see anyone get hurt on roads like Duncan Ridge because you’re not in control. I’m all for getting out there and exploring but training is as invaluable off-road as track days and clinics are on road. Cheers.

If you see a group of deer running should akways watch where they came from for more.. when was 18 didnt pay attention to where they came from and had a buck destory my truck
