General Grievous is the four-armed sith dude. He used to be a regular alien dude, but then other aliens invaded his planet. He became a general and basically single-handedly pushed the invaders back. Then the invaders cried to the jedi and told them that Grievous was the one that started it all. The jedi then joined the fight against Grievous, who lost, and Grievous decided that he hated jedi. Count Dooku told Grievous that he could help him kill jedi, and Grievous agreed. Count Dooku then turned Grievous into a cyborg and trained him in the arts of lightsaber combat, although General Grievous isn't actually a sith, just a really cool cyborg dude.

The Star Wars character you described is actually General Grievous not Count Dooku. Grievous was a member of a species and then his ship was shot down and he almost died, but his organs were preserved and put into a droid body. So he was a living being before becoming a droid. He can fight in lightsaber combat because Dooku trained him to hunt and kill Jedi for him. He has no ability to use the force (and would have even less so since he has very little organic matter left in his body).

Glad Lumo went to cosmic horrors, too, because that whole shadow vs. crab situation reminded me strongly of MTG's Eldrazi.

For anyone who's interested, they're monstrous beings beyond comprehension that feed on reality itself. They manifest as towering horrors that dwarf mountains and spawn endless hoards of "smaller" (most of them are still quite large) monsters to subdue and drain the life out of entire planes of existence, with each monster technically only being another part of the single entity, but that's not their true form, or rather, not the full extent of it. Their manifestation in realities is described as akin to a man sticking his hand into a small pond full of small fish. The fish see a strange, giant monster with five tentacles, but the actual creature extends far beyond. For a card game, some of it's lore is surprisingly good (some, not all; some of it is downright terrible).

Pretty sure the guy you're thinking of is General Grievous, and I, wondering the exact same thing, looked it up once and apparently he's just a dude who got broke so badly they had to replace everything 'cept his brain. The 4-armed lightsaber wielding dude that Obi-Wan fought at the end of Ep 3 is General Grievous. He's a cyborg. Originally just an alien, but he got messed up and Dooku had him turned into a cyborg and trained him to use lightsabers and fight Jedi.

Also, general grievous is a cyborg bug man. Not a extremely sentient droid. Specifically, he was a bug man whose race was pretty much enslaved by a race of giant alien prey mantis’. He climbed the ranks of his people and freed them by their enslavers. Said prey mantis then got into contact with the trade federation they knew - who got the intergalactic senate to get involved and pretty much royally screwed over non-cyborg grievous. The sith learned about grievous’ grudge, so they planted a bomb in his ship - partially blew him up - then shifted the blame to the Jedi being responsible and he bought it. He then asked that if they can augment everything besides his brain, but they ignored him and augmented that to. As well as, had him be trained in the ways of the light saber by count dooku.
