SYDNEY - James Thompson (Yr 12 Multimedia)

Sydney is a Multimedia Major Work by Class of 2024 student James Thompson.

James was the Dux of the Class of 2024, and was both the top student in Industrial Technology Multimedia, and the top student in his Screen and Media class. His cinematography consistently stood out amongst his student cohort, and no film showcases this more clearly than Sydney.

James discusses the purpose of the film in his Statement of Intent: "My major work will be an advertisement-like video advertising travel in Sydney,
Australia. I was motivated to take this path in my idea after viewing multiple travel
advertisements for destinations worldwide. This form of video inspired me, as you get to
capture the best parts of an area in an attempt to sell the experience to someone else.
Furthermore, having a passion for exploring and enjoying time outside I am given the
expertise to document and create a major work in the city I live in. This project encompasses
some of my passions for videography, travelling and exploring the places I love. This further
pushes me to explore new places around Sydney whilst documenting them."
