I'm always surprised that this song is a bit lesser known when I play it live. I think it's one of @chrisstapleton's best songs, and one of my favorites to play. Hope you enjoy the slightly more rock n' roll version I did today.

Original music:

Lyrics:

I've been thinking 'bout my thoughtless words
And I know just how much they must have hurt
And I take it back
Won't you let me take it back?
You know I told you that I don't love you
That I'd be better off with someone new
But I take it back
Won't you let me take it back?
Girl, you know that I still love you
And you know that I'm so alone
I don't know why
I told you that I didn't need you
Can't you see that, baby, I was wrong?
What I wouldn't give to be your lover again
All I want to do is touch your skin, yeah
If I had you right here right now
Tell you, tell you, tell you, tell you
Girl, you know that I still love you
And you know that I'm so alone
I don't know why
I told you that I didn't need you
Can't you see that, baby, I was wrong?

This is his best song. What an amazing collection of lyrics, Guitar and soul. Damn. Great cover

The amount of emotion you can emote with just your voice and an acoustic guitar leaves me gobsmacked every. single. time. Even though I know you’re going to do exactly that. I have no words Adam, none that could adequately describe what you do. Amazing, not even close. Breathtaking, nope. So I will leave it up to you. Whatever lofty plateau upon which you can conjure in you mind where you want your talent to reside where you feel you have accomplished your goal, you are there. If there is a word to describe that, then that’s the word I want to use. The world is in for a big surprise. Thank you for sharing. I am not worthy.

Hot damn! Chris gave up on the Jompson Brothers. You could definitely fill that gap! Let’s hear some Southern Rock/Blues originals!

Man you're awesome; will you do a cover of wasted time by the eagles?

First time hearing you. Your voice is amazing. You managed to take this song and make your own version without trying to copy Stapleton. I'm pretty sure I will come back ofthen to hear you. Keep up the good work brother.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that! I don't think I've ever heard antone cover this b4 because I was afraid, they would ruin for me. Not you brother! Nailed it! Also afraid I might not get to see ya'll in June. Running away with Hunnybunny to Vegas to get fool!

Your voice is great! Only critical thing i could say is the vibrato on your voice at the end of your sentances is a little too wavey but your tone and ability to sing in tune is fantastic. The rasp is clearly natural, jammy git

Solid. The arrangement adds to the song even better than chris does. I wont say that to him in passing though

You might think of doing a few Van Halen covers. You have the look and the voice to do them justice.

Can I ask what strings you're running here?

Thank you!

Your humility is amazing however, I wish I had one 10 of your ability to come anywhere close to Mr stapleton. I can do fairly good impressions of a lot of other country singers but that was Top Notch sir. I might have been hard-pressed if I didn't know what I was watching to differentiate you from Chris at certain points. If he's not proud, he's a fool
