My buddy and I were bass fishing the other day and he got the biggest bluegill I've ever seen, we thought he hooked a trout originally, it was so fat it would droop over his hand. It was wild

Thats why I would get confused when my buddy would tell me he goes pike fishing. And then goes on to show me these giant size fish pics. 😂

For some reason only in Saskatchewan people call walleye pikerel. Also thanks for clarifying because I did not know the difference as we only have northern pike where I live

Bass really do just look like elongated bluegill if you think about it.

Can you recommend good lures for chain pickerel right now?

that's like saying an elk is a deer . . . I mean technically an elk is a member of the family Cervidae but if you have a deer tag and you shoot an elk, that excuse is not gonna fly with the game warden

In Ontario we call Walleye, "Pickerel" (it's a misnomer but we just do it), so when he saw that you caught that Chain Pickerel (which aren't that common in Ontario) he confused it for a Northern Pike (which are common). That's all that happened. Don't blame my Canadian brotha

It took me like 5 secs to realize the joke. Im pretty sure its because sunfish and bass are both from the perch family.

We used to catch baby northern pikes in Wisconsin and we called then snakes, they might have been pickerel

A few years ago I thought a pickerel and pike were the same fish
