What If Sea Levels Suddenly Rose 500 Meters?

There’s a new natural disaster in town. Sea levels have suddenly shot up by 500 meters and giant waves are headed in your direction.

Global warming has been progressively melting our ice sheets and glaciers. Over the past 100 years, sea levels have increased by around 24 cm (9.5 in), but a spike this high in sea levels is unprecedented.

Would your city be destroyed? What would it take to trigger a disaster of such epic proportions?

Its unfortunate, but according to some calculations, if the sea level increased just 0.5 meters, my entire city would be flooded (Greece, Athens). Greece is already affected by climate change.
20 years ago, summer used to start in May and end in September. Last decades data, we noticed that summer starts in May and ends in late-November (most of us are actually walking around with plain t-shirts in late-November nowadays), while winter starts in mid or late December and ends in mid-April (last year, we were snow-covered in a coastal city, Thessaloniki, in mid-March!).
Also, within the last 10 years, each year was getting the "new record" for highest temperature during summer.
If our governments, every single one of them, wont do something, fast, Greece and many other countries will be flooded within 40 years, maybe less. So, no matter who you are, you can do something about it. If you buy products from companies that are not good for our environment, stop giving them your money. Let them go bankrupt and out of jobs. Save some money and get an electric car or an electric bike whenever you can afford it. Find a way to install a solar panel. But most of all, and thats something we all have to do, contact your governments and tell them to do something good for once.

There's another planet about 1, 200 light-years from us that astronomers discovered in 2013 called Kepler 62e and it looks similar to Earth except a lot larger and all it is is just water well if the water here on Earth rose, earth would look a little more similar to Kepler 62e. Earth would probably be considered a water planet and kepler 62e is considered a water planet

@whatif: while the ocean can’t rise that much, it might rise a lot one of these day. But to fight that off, what if we refilled the two biggest lake beds in the Great Basin? What impact would that have on weather? How much would that lake effect snow and rain impact the long term snowpack? What would that continual withdrawal of water from the ocean do to sea levels?

Just one question, if every glacier and the ice caps all melted the worst prediction is 70 meters of rise. Where is the other 430 meters coming from, did a moon sized water asteroid crash, cause we'd have a lot worse problems than sea level rise.
