My husband and I have been married 47 years ago Monday and had our first of 3 kids 44 years ago. That year we bought a Christmas tree lighted with red lights and decorated from a Christmas store. That tree has never been taken apart, decorations and all. We cover it and store it in a closet and add decorations as we have gotten them. Almost all the lights are still working and new only added as needed. Same tree 44 years and such memories attached! Everytime we put it out, our memories of our three kids and their Christmases fill our hearts especially of our son that was killed in a car crash at 15.

Glass Angel…that’s our code word for look out. Twenty years ago while wandering the Christmas displays at Marshall Fields my daughter brushed by a chair that was filled with angels (with China and glass heads). One slid off and cracked on the floor. The salespeople were so nice (it really was an accident waiting to happen), my daughter was devastated. But from then on all I had to say was “glass Angel” and she would freeze, back off and stop touching. We laugh about it now as she tends to say it to me as I trip along on clumsy feet.

Garden Answer Word of the Day: Cachepot. I had never in all my life heard that word until this video. I looked up "Cash Pot, " that didn't lead where I needed to go. Then it clicked, "cache pot" and that got me to "cachepot." I turn 50 today and y'all taught me that old dogs can learn new tricks! 😂 Am I the only one? Also, I always love the Christmas decor store tour!! Amazing!
