It is due to citizenship of the victims, the victims had strong links to the US Canada and the UK including citizenship so those governments spent money looking for their citizens.

Once against the hypocrisy, it is overwhelming. We as viewers don't have to JUSTIFY what story we are intersred in people die every day and we decide where our empathy lies. NOT the media and especially those who are coming to our country, ILLEGALLY
