DIY LIGHT UP SHOES | Make Thrift Buy #25

♪ SO... is it possible to make your own light up shoes? ♪
ALSO if you're actually thinking of making these yourself, PLEASE watch til the end AND read the tips below!

BONUS TIPS: If you're shopping for shoes to use, bring the battery pack (or something about the same size) with you. Try the shoes on, then place the battery pack inside the shoe. Then you will be able to tell whether or not the shoes will work for this project! Not all shoes will work!

For all those saying she could have just bought the $34 pair, its called a hobby. Some people just enjoy doing things for fun or for the challenge. Plus, with this DIY, you can choose whatever style of shoes you like, colour of light etc. so much you can customise to your liking. And you gain satisfaction from making it yourself too. (Its like how some people enjoy baking even though the cost of the ingredients is higher than buying a cake from a bakery)

Forgive me for not reading through 3, 000 comments, but hopefully this shows up for anyone who wants to make them: you can get LED strips like this that pull apart at the joins instead of being cut; that might be a good solution for people who have a strong bend in their shoes from where they walk. (You'd just end up reconnecting the LEDs, rather than replacing them.)

Even though they're the same price as the ebay shoes, if/when the lights break you's have to buy a whole new pair of shoes but with these you only have to replace the lights

I love this. My son is autistic with an intellectual disability, so even though he's a teenager, he still loves character light up shoes but I couldn't find any that fit so I'm trying to custom make some for him. Ty for the video tutorial, you did great

Would not do this project because the idea of batteries sucks. I really like the original desigs because its chargeable with usb cable

ACTUALLY V CREATIVE!! bc if you buy those shoes what already have those lights inside are not fixable. those you made are easier to fix just change the cable of the lights/new lights -you get it- and use the same shoes again!! no need to buy new shoes! :D

The reason she made these is because if it is a low price it is from a sweatshop, so if you don't support sweatshops you can make them. And a lot of people say that they are bad quality and dosen't come in their size, so it is better to make the yourself.
