Gee, I've been one of your ardent supporter. Always clicking the like button on most of your videos. But for this, you kinda disappointed me with this negative jibe on Floyd. So Jose Luis Castillo, Marcos Maida, De La Hiya, Emanuel Augustus, Miguel Cotto, Zab Judah, Shane Mosley even Canelo, has all past their best before he fought them?? Is not only an insult to those Legends, but a big insult to boxing in general.

You're 100% on point. Floyd wasn't the first to do it; but he did it better than anyone else. Ray Leonard did it after he beat Hagler; and Roy Jones Jr. did the same thing. We don't have World Champions anymore, guys who face the best fighters out there to defend their have "stars" who may or may not have a belt. Belts have become worthless because everybody and their grandmother can get one. Instead of one World Champion per division, you have several really good fighters with Participation Trophies and whoever has the best connections gets the best P.R. Floyd was great. I'm not saying he wasn't; but he did not fight "the best" to earn that reputation, which is mostly touted by casuals because they don't know any better. Totally flawed argument!
No fighter ever fought every fighter in his era! It's impossible to do that. As a fighter ages, lots of young talents come up. You fight who has earned the right to fight you and makes business sense and not just anyone because he wants to fight a legend.
You let them earn the right to fight you by defeating the other promising boxers. Only then, can the young fighter ask to face the Master. Ali for instance never fought everybody in his era. How many Cuban fighters did he fight? At least, not Stevenson. (Forget about the politics involved.) Did Tyson ever fight David Tua or Rahman or Savon? Would you say Tyson intentionally avoided them? Some things or fights are simply just not meant to be.

How old was Ali when he fought Holmes? And how old was Floyd when he fought Canelo? Canelo knocked out Amir Khan cold. But what happened to Canelo when he faced Floyd? That should tell you that Floyd need not waste his time to fight Khan simply because lots of emotional English fans went in to vote while the rest of the world did not have the chance to vote for varied reasons! Floyd once called out Amir Kharn during a post fight interview and Larry Merchant told him point blank that Amir Khan was never going to fight him! What does that tell you? Besides, a true global poll accessible to all to pick who to fight Floyd wouldn't have been in Khan's favour anyway.

I respect and admire Lara a lot but he lost against Canelo. (To me, that fight should at least been a draw.) What makes you think Floyd couldn't have handled stylish fighters like himself? If he could face the likes of Augustus and Zab Judah etc, what makes you think a glass chinned Khan would have presented Floyd his hardest opposition and hence not giving Khan the opportunity?

The best attributes of Floyd were/are not just his defensive prowess but his attack! When Floyd decides to "sit" on an opponent and fight him in the middle of the ring, he's unstoppable! He truly makes A fighters look like C class fighters. That attests to his greatness. He neutralizes styles. That's his specialty. Then he uses his abundant stamina and skills to wear you down. Go back and watch how Manny Pacquiao looked lost in the post fight interview in the ring after his fight with Floyd. The likes of Marcos Maidana looked good only when Floyd occasionally retreated to the ropes to catch his opponents when coming in. His tendency to over stay there occasionally made them look good, even though they only succeeded, to a large extent, to land ineffectual body punches. Floyd's conditioning is perfect - bar none!

Lara was not in Floyd's division but Canelo's. Floyd went up and took on Canelo - the much touted "future of boxing" at a catchweight and still masterfully schooled him! Now people are making noise about Canelo has matured and all that. I'll bet my last dollar on it tgat should Floyd devide to him a rematch even at this old age (though he's still well conditioned due to his discipline) his defensive prowess would still make Canelo look ordinary. It is Canelo's opponents (save GGG) who make Canelo look so good. They simply lose focus and discipline so they fight the wrong fight!

Again, the fact that fighters called out Floyd and didn't get the opportunity to fight him does not mean Floyd avoided them. To fight the master, you need to earn your position and it must make business sense. Khan making empty noises and wanting to fight Floyd was not about beating Floyd. He simply wanted the opportunity to make good money though he hadn't earned the right to fight Floyd.

The man is retired and is relying on his pull to make extra money for himself. How many of tge so called great fighters could do what Floyd is doing at his age? He is still able to compete, yes, but that's because of his discipline and lifetime dedication to the sport. What had happened to the likes of Ali, Tyson, Holmes, Holyfield, Sugar Ray Leonard. when they were Floyd's age? Boxing is all about hitting your opponent as many times as possible without getting hit much in order to win. So give credit where it is due. Marcos Maidana earned the shot because he was a multiple champ who had sensationally defeated Broner - a much hated figure just like Floyd. When Floyd chose Marcos Maidana, all the Floyd Mayweather haters were happy because they banked on him losing. But, once again he found a way to win. He even beat the fans to the game! Give credit where it is due and stop making lame excuses. Let the pundits set the parameters for determining who the best fighter ever is and let's analyse each fighter's achievement factually and without being unnecessarily emotional. I have no doubt that Floyd would be crowned truly as The Best Ever! He is boxing!!
