If your computer's screen shows this blue-gray Bios screen, Press F9. When a text box appears, press Enter to select Yes. If the computer doesn't re-start at this point, press F10. When the second text box appears, press Enter again to select Yes. The computer should re-start then and be fine.

I apologize for ratting my problems out, but I guess it makes me fell better to rant. I was playing a video game, and my computer crashed. This Aptio Utility Setup thing came up for me and i tried fixing it with tips from the internet, but to no avail. I sent my computer to get it fixed and a day later I was told on the phone that my hard drive was beyond recovery, and all data was lost. By now, I've spent around 300$ on this laptop, not counting the initial cost, in the last 4 months because of Virus's, Static, and now a hard drive crash. For future references, I'm NEVER buying an ASUS Laptop again.

Try the following and see if it resolves the problem.

1. In the Aptio Setup Utility, select the "boot" menu and then select "Launch CSM" and change it to "enable".

2. Next select the "Security" menu and then select "secure Boot Control" and change to "disable".

3. Now select "Save & Exit" and press "yes".

4. Once you have done this, hold down the "power" button until the laptop turns off completely.

5. Now you want to power it back on and continually press the "F9" button for about ten seconds or until you are taken to the "Windows Recovery Menu".

6. In here select "Advanced Start Up" and then, once the recovery menu appears, select "Advance Options".

7. Choose "System Restore" and select a date prior to when the problem started.

The computer should now go through the restore process and then start normally for you.

I took the computer in to get checked. The hard drive crashed. No information was recoverable. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

This happens usually when there is no storage device/ medium detected. Happens to me sometimes when my ssd isnt seated properly.

Hi there I had the same problem, but here is how to sort it out.  1, Select the Security menu n the Aptio setup utility, select 'secure Boot Control' and change to disable. 2, Select the Boot menu in the Aptio setup utility, select 'Launch CSM' and change to enable 3, Select Save & Exit and press 'yes' Hold down the power button until the unit switches power off completely 4, Switch back on and continually press the F9 button for about ten seconds; this should now allow the unit to boot up into the Windows Recovery menu 5, Select 'Advanced Start Up' and wait until the recovery menu appears 6, Select ' Advanced Options'7,  Select 'System Restore' and select a date prior to when the problem occured  System Restore worked perfectly for me; good luck
