GTA V 8GB RAM IS NOT ENOUGH! HERE IS WHY!

There is 3 fix for it:
One is free, One is not.
1. Create paging file, in a different hdd (or ssd, ssd is better) / partition, with no data, with 1.5x more GB, For example: if i have 8gb ram, then i make a paging file with 12000MB
2. buy more ram (2x8GB)
3. if your system doesn't start your game as a high priority, then change it in the task manager, or run the game as administrator. (this can fix the issue in some cases)

IMPORTANT NOTE!!! --->> THIS VIDEO IS MOSTLY ABOUT THAT IF YOU HAVE 8GB RAM THEN YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RUN ON FULL SETTINGS (OR NEAR FULL SETTINGS) WHICH MEANS, YOU CAN'T PLAY THE FULL GTA "EXPERIENCE" (and at some specs your game can cause this kind of AND I KNOW YOU CAN PLAY WITH 8GB RAM EASLY! Hello everyone, I have managed to get gta to run smoothly on my 8gb laptop and its actually quite a simple thing, what I did is the following:-
1- setting windows for best performance, this is to make windows use less of your ram so you can have more memory space for gta.
2- turning these settings as low as possible (texture distance scaling, pupolation density, population variety) this makes gta use less memory because it has less data to generate than when these settings are high.

Edit: and it worked guys just upgrade you’re ram to 12gb or 16gb or higher. I had 60 fps and everytime i move it drops to 10 now i have 80 / 100 fps without lag

Trust me its the ram problem . I played it with 8 gb and a lot of stutter happen like in this video . But after upgrade to 12 gb ram not i can run smoothly

How to fix lag
Step 1: Get 16gb of Ram :D

To whoever is getting to this video, if you have 8GB of RAM and a modern system (like a 7th gen processor from intel or Ryzen) and you still experiment problems like this, the simplest solution would be to acquire an SSD no matter the size as long as it's enough for windows to be installed in it, i guaranty you will no longer experience lag like this having both an SSD and a HDD running together, since the HDD doesn't have Windows installed it will focuse all of it's capacity of reading and writing into the game and Windows will do it's thing on the SSD alone. SSD's are cheaper nowadays so you should be able to get at least a single 120GB SSD

either have more ram or increase pagefile on an SSD not a mechanical drive, secondly that graph is a frametime NOT indication of "lag" so to speak and thirdly 8gb ram is more than enough for GTAV it's a matter of how much you have running in the background.

I play with 6 GB RAM (2GB for the iGPU) at 720p with a constant frame rate of 45 FPS, no lag whatsoever.

It needs dual channel ram...the hdd needs defragment... disable superfetch...set the virtual ram to 12gb or 16 gb ...better would be to have the game running from an SSD

Turn the shadows off, move to direct 10.1x, lower graphics quality to high, and turn vsync to half to limit your FPS to 30

I was running gta v on 8 gb ram and was running smoothly on medium graphics. But after the August 2020 update it started to lag and stutter even on lowest graphics settings. I thought 8 gb ram is less. So installed another 8 gb ram. Now its total 16 gb RAM . But the game still lags and stuttering problem not solved .

Same issue was there in my laptop, got a Ryzen 5 with GTX 1650 so can't blame the hardware for stuttering. My ram was 8 gb & 2 gb was reserved for vega 8, so technically 6 gb of usable ram, The installation was super slow & game used to stutter like in the above video. Today I got an additional 8 gb so now it's 16gb, (14 gb usable). No stuttering issues, constant 60fps, & installation time for games have also been reduced by quite noticable margin.

8 gb is enough for GTA V but not for GTA Online.
