Why India and Pakistan celebrate independence on different dates?

Firstly, pakistan did not independent, this is India who got independence and Pakistan is separate from India,
So technically there should be no independence day of pakistan, but there is separation day of pakistan 🙄

As per Independence Act 1947 both got independent on August 15. Jinah in his speech on Radio mentioned August 15 as the Independence Day.Commemorative stamps released by Pakistan till July 1948 mentioned August 15 as the Independence Day of Pakistan. It was latter Pakistani leadership wanted to celebrate Independence Day before India does. A group of ministers in Pakistan's first cabinet held a meeting in June-end, 1948. Pakistan from its begining had a crisis of identity that it faces till today they do not wanted to be associated with Indian Identity thus decisions like this were taken.

Pakistan's time is 30 mins behind IST...so technically if its midnight of Aug 15, then India celebrates on 15th and Pakistan on 14th.

Well, if you read Murder of History book by K.K Aziz you'll know that both the countries, India and Pakistan, got independence on 15th only. In fact, for first three years Pakistan celebrated independence on 15th and then the regime changed it.

After the approval of 3rd june plan the last viceregal lodge Lord mountbatten were sent to the sub continent for its division. On 14th August he did a speech in karachi and said you are independent. And on 15th august he did his speech in Mumbai and give independence to India. Thats why we celebrate on 14 august ahd India celebrate on 15 august 😊

who saying pakistan ka time 30 min piche india se. pakistan standard time was adopted in 1951 and till 1951 they followed same time as india and 2nd bangladesh was also part of pakistan so it can go other way that pakistan got independence 30 min later than india by taking east Pakistan into consideration. and even qaid e azam of Pakistan celebrated independence on 15 aug
