You can get MAX versions of all of the tanks Red Sea make so this system applies to any size tank.

For some one who's been out of the hobby for a very long time these look like a cracking package just for the ease of getting started. But I think I'd just go with tank and light (most expnsive bits) and sort a better pump skimmer myself.

Red sea should make a quality heater, A PH Probe, then they would have the ultimate Max package.

I had fish keeping tanks in the '90s.I decided i want to develop a reef tank with my grandson. The advancements are overwhelming. I like the complete built that RS has to offer. A local store gave me a quote for a complete system that includes the extras like; live sand &rock, reef wave, heater, test kits, water, etc. This build would come in at $1800.00 US

I am that reefer, I am definitely a “matchy match” kind of person, as well as being a reefer without a clue

I will say I had a 34 gallon Red Sea tank back 10 plus years ago before all the Bluetooth wifi stuff. I loved that tank all I wish it had was a easy way to do a sump on it. I would like a all in one. But I think my wife wouldn’t want me to spend all that money at once. Yeah I know 🤫 I spend a good amount on my 75 gallon set up but that was bit by bit so easier to hide what I’m spending 😂

I’m sure a redsea heater is on the way along with a redsea fish net

We recently bought the MAX version of the 425 G2+ during the Labor Day sales here in the US. On top of the savings that MAX already provided, we were able to also get 12% off the entire sale as well! We're new the saltwater hobby and really like the all-in-one controlled by ReefBeat functionality. Very excited to finish our cycle soon!!!

Does this mean you are upgrading from the wall paper and slapping one of these babies in its place!?😂

I love how cheap our hobby is 😂 but I’m so addicted 😊

My first thought today was “why have they released this when they haven’t got a heater to go with it”. Im guessing it’s their next equipment release but they should have waited on the max release.

I would be interested to hear your options on all the equipment needed for a reef tank. I think mixing and matching sometimes gives you better results.

Once again Alex, thanks. It's been asked before on this thread. I would be interested in your opinion on the light/s, the skimmer and the reef mat vs popular alternatives, like AI Prime lights et. al.
Maybe you already have?

Thanks as always, .

I'm not so sure about it. It should come with a heater so there's an extra. But someone who considers this is better off going into their LFS and having them help - I think this says "you don't need an LFS - you can just buy this online".
And then the big thing is that an 8% discount is not enough - it's not a WOW.
So I expect those that go for this won't know any better and will simply have issues (unless they buy it at their LFS).
Smart LFS's will say "this is the Red Sea Bundle and this is what we would do, which is the same price with the heaters, rock, sand, bacteria and salt.

You forgot to add the required pump controller which brings savings to another $150 on top.

was looking at maybe getting the 700 but correct me if I'm wrong but looking at the sump layout from there website it doesn't seem to have ATO reservoir, so then I would have to use the space left in the cabinet to put a container for top off water, if I'm right it seems a bit odd giving a free ATO device with no container !

looking at the e170 2g, is it really worth going for top one over standard version. cheers

I bought a Reefer 170 when they 1st came out and im pretty sure it was £650 might have been an early bird offer. I think they are now like £1100 which is just crazy. I like what they have done here but their app scares me as loads of people have slated it in the past, maybe they have ironed out the kinks now. There is somthing to be said to have all of your kit living under one simple app thats easy to use and just works. Ive had an apex and that doesnt count 😂 simple it wasnt

I built a 40 gallon and sump and stand for under 1000 bucks. Lights, pumps ect. Can redsea beat that. I bet it would cost 4x that.

Ironically I love all of the red sea products except for the tank itself, don't like how you can't get a glass lid or a canopy.

Also Alex, what lighting do you use on your red sea display, and do you think a single reef wave gyre is substantial for a 120 gallon (4 ft) lps dominant reef?
