Sad News Andy, i was a Charger/playcraft dealer for many years.Made alota trips from Southern illinois over to Richland, Mo to bring boats back to the shop when Jim or Dorris would let us know we had boats ready to pick up.They gave me a tour of the buildings when i picked up my first batch of boats(12 total)an every person in their organization were super freindly and very knowledgeable with the Boats.Long Live Charger, i hope someone buys the Place and keeps producing Boats.

Well since Andy made this video the website for Charger boats has come back up. Don't know exactly when but last week I saw it was back in operation. Also see that Carolyn has posted on this thread. Very nice of her to join in and give us an idea of what's going on. Best of luck to her in keeping the rest of the company going and maybe finding someone to take over the bass boat side.

I've owned a couple of Chargers in the past and was looking at a couple that were at Texas Boat World in Harker Heights, Tx. I called them when the site was down and the person answering the phone said they were going through a re-organization, and that the website would come back up when they got through. Unfortunately, since then they sold the two new 203s that they had. I'm in no hurry but will probably find a clean used one and be happy with it. Sure, do hate to see the Charger brand and quality go away. Bad enuf that we lost Champion right when they were the best bass boat on the market. Charger had picked up a few of their hulls and was doing a great job with them.

Living in the ozarks, I have a lot of memories of charger. Kelly is the man and hopefully the come back soon.

Those OG charger hulls were the softest riding boat I ever rode in. A lot of guides at lake of the ozarks ran them back in the day. The designs were a little behind the times compared to most modern boats, narrow bow etc. But the quality and ride were impressive

Sad. I've read that Charger made great boats, especially the Champion hull boats

Going out on a limb here. What if Rick Pierce bought Charger boats. He likes the Champion hull.

Their Pro Air system was awesome. I ran a 296 for 14 years. Just sold it last year. Great great boat.

Very sad news. Started tournament fishing on a Champion, then Stratos came in, eh. But Charger did it right. Kelly has always been a class act and hopefully there's some things being done to continue the line. I've fished on 171, 196, 198. Haven't had the privilege to fish off a 210, but that is my dream boat. Obviously, there is the used market, but, 4 years on the Southern California and west coast tournament waters and all the other times. Nothing like a Champion/Charger. Hopefully Kelly and others can get it figured out and keep the line going. As for pricing, Charger actually was a good value compared to many other brands. Fingers crossed!!!!

Andy, if you don't buy those molds and start making them, then you ain't got a man in your family! DO IT!! Yamaha powered and your particular spin on em. 👍🇺🇸

I noticed you didn't mention the Charger in your top 10 boats. Does that mean they aren't very good boats or you just don't like them. I came across a 2001 Charger Firefox 395 at a decent price. I'm after a reliable used boat. Is this the one? I came across your channel and you seem very knowledgeable so I trust your opinion.

I hope they are able to bring production back, or another company buys them that wants to keep the Charger values and designs. I just re-powered my ‘88 195TF, but when it’s finally time for another, I wanted to stick with Charger. Hope the best for the Dorris family.
