Cold Winter River Bank Fishing

The weather was cold and dropping as the winter storm moved in. I met up with @FishingWithChris_Tv to catch some sluggish crappie under a spillway.

I can’t say it enough, winter fish in the Midwest are the most rewarding catches. A fish we wouldn’t think much of in the summer time means a lot more in January.

Maybe it's just me, but I think trout magnets are one of the best soft plastics to fish with. I've caught nearly everything on them. Bass love the Chartreuse color!

Trout Magnet is just easy fishing when I’m feeling lazy. Caught really nice red eyes, smallmouth, striper, trout, etc over the years. Nothing massive but really solid creek fish. That lure really shines when you learn how and where to use it….and which colors! White, Buffalo and hot pink.

When the young crappie school up like that…. Non-stop fun! Some of the best days, for catch and release anyway, are like this one. Loads of fun! With that ultralight gear, every fish is fun. Cracked up when you said Chris was catching the same one over and over. Why’d you do my guy like that!😂 Way to man it out in that cold. Been brutal around here lately. Chris always does such a good job explaining his techniques and gear. Awesome video, fellas!

All we use is crappie Magnet Jigs and trout magnet jigs... Tipped with minnows or 1 inch gulp minnows. .... We haven't used anything else in many years. 💪😎

Back when I was a teen, my brother and I were fishing on a golf course this time of year . We were using Mr Twister chartreuse and a pin bobber . I caught a 17" white crappie and he caught a 19" white crappie . Fun days, but it was COLD !!

Love this spot, me and buddy had some good luck with brim on ultralights on New Year’s Day. Nothing special but always fun. Plus some great scenery, Tennessee is the best. Great video.
