Study smarter 👇

1️⃣ Get the big picture: Start by skimming your syllabus and class notes to map out what needs to be covered. This gives you a clear overview of the material and helps you avoid surprises. I also like to take advantage of chapter summaries and skim them at the start of my studying. A good understanding of the layout saves time and keeps you organized.

2️⃣ Prioritize important concepts: Not all topics carry the same weight. You can find this out from the syllabus, friends who took the exam earlier or upperclassmen, the teacher or even in online forum (if applicable). Focus on concepts that show up most frequently in your textbook and past exams. Knowing what’s critical can make your study sessions way more efficient.

3️⃣ Tackle practice problems: There’s no better way to test your knowledge than by solving practice questions, this is more effective than writing summaries. It’s one thing to read a concept, but applying it helps cement it in your memory. Start with the most important concept on your priority list and review or even redo questions covering that topic.

4️⃣ Target weaknesses: Identify the areas where you’re struggling and spend extra time there. Strengthening your weak points can make a massive difference in your overall performance. If you’re having too much difficulty and get stuck on a problem, move onto the next weakness. The goal is to address as many weaknesses as you can, so resolve the low hanging fruit first!

5️⃣ Don’t sacrifice sleep: Depending on how much time you have, you may not get through all of your priority list and that is OKAY. That’s why you cover the high priority ones first. When it’s getting late, you have a to make a decision depending on your body and its needs. Lack of sleep rest reduces your ability to focus and recall information. A well-rested brain is your best tool on exam day!

idk if you’ll read this, but just my two cents <3 🧡
I used to have so many things that I wanted to improve in, and so I would always go on other study-tubers’ videos and comment my specific situation. but low and behold, u released the “stop watching study videos” a few days later, literally during my summer break, and since then, I've prioritized my own ability to problem solve, introspect, and iterate for myself. I've improved exponentially over the past few months, especially rewiring my mindset as to not depend on an external source to feed me solutions that I never think about adapting to my own unique situations. Prescriptive advice and performative productivity, like how u say, is so misleading. this is the trap I used to get caught up in, ramming my head into the wall trying to follow their solutions to a T. I thought it's be valuable to share some of the issues I faced and the personalized efficiencies I came up: *starting whatever I need to get done without necessarily having a plan, then adapting and changing as I go (this removes so much friction!); actively recalling information from my notes throughout the school day for classes that I’ve had before during dead time (accidental spaced repetition!); turning my notes into a personalized study guide throughout the semester that comes in great handy to organize my studying around for large unit exams*. Thank you so much Amy!
