If a russian military man does that to a russian lady in the 'Motherland', it's not hard to imagine how Ukrainian citizens in occupied territories are treated by russians. 💔

The attitude that the soldier had towards the old lady shocked me. The armed services exist to protect citizens, but apparently not in Russia.

When the Soviet Union collapsed - unpredictably for most ordinary workers and collective farmers - many intelligent, highly educated people were fully prepared to emigrate and, as they say in Russia, "were already sitting on their suitcases." Why? Could they have predicted that the Union would collapse exactly then? No. But, studying such "innocent" things as Russian history and literature at the university, and reading forbidden honest books in secret, they understood perfectly well that, firstly, there was almost never a good life for normal people in Russia; and, secondly, that sometimes - about once every hundred years - the borders open in Russia, and whoever manages to jump out of the prison of nations and run away as far as possible with his/her family has a decent chance of a happy life. The main thing is never to return to Russia.

Konstantin, we don’t like your sarcasm, we Love it. Also, you are definitely not alone. As for being nuts, join the club, as we all eat our popcorn and try not to cry at the madness around us.

The 95 russian citizens who are still missing from the ISIS attack at that theatre?....yeah....they all said "Now is my chance to leave and they will never suspect it!"....and they crossed over into one of the "Stan" countries and never looked back!

Power to you
Another top notch crazy Wednesday.
Things I never before considered, about a country that I had no real interest in, have me glued to your videos.
I now know so much more about Russia and the Russian people. I also know why you are so saddened with regards to your homeland. I feel for you, I really do.
I have followed you since the beginning of the war. I found you totally by accident, browsing YouTube. What a find!!!
Please continue as you are...and as crazy as it might sound...some day I hope that we meet.
Much love to you and your family. Above all, please stay safe.
Northamptonshire, England...

I am so thrilled that I found you on the Internet. You are a breath of fresh air. My ancestry is Russian and I am so ashamed of what Russia has become. My Grandparents were from Russia and the Russian/Polish Border. They came to America before WW2 but most of our family, over 36 members weren't so lucky. They perished in the Concentration camps. Please take care of yourself. Get better fast from Bronchitis. I will see you soon. I love to listen to your updates. Beverly from Connecticut, USA

The incident with the old lady shocked. I actually saw something similar in a bus station in Omsk way back in 1994 right after I got married.

We were taking the bus to my wife’s grandmothers’ village. There was an old lady selling herbs, quite common back then. I walked over to buy some thyme and as I did a guy of about 30 started arguing with the seller. My wife called out to me to stop as she knew something was going to happen. The man stupidly struck the women across the face. At this point I have to say the woman looked to be a Tartar, not exactly someone most people would defend or protect as sorry Russians are terrible racists. however, at the moment the young man raised his hand a sea of men converged on the attacker and for the next few minutes they beat that man to a pulp. It was savage to the point event the old seller tried to stop them. My wife left our luggage ran to me now rooted to the ground in shock and dragged me away.

The police arrived and no buses were allowed to leave for about 30 mins. They talked to bystanders and the old lady who now had a big bruise on her face. An ambulance arrived for the man and the police left with it. They didn’t arrest any of the attackers only the lady’s attacker.

My wife told me that although she was a Tartar, for those bystanders, she was a babooshka and that was sacred. I learned in Russia any old woman is treated with respect even she is a tartar or any other ethnicity, and the reason is the relationship most Russians have with their grandmothers.

My own wife loves her mother and did her now passed father even he was violent, but her love for her grandparents was a sight to see. When her father died, she took it badly but when her maternal grandmother died it was as if she had lost a child or her own mother. She was distraught for weeks and when it happened, she was booking flights before I even knew what was going on.

I have seen old drunk men being abused in Russia on a number of occasions but I have never seen a woman let alone an old woman as much as having a voice raised against them.

Russian culture is not perfect, indeed in many ways its not that good but in the way women and particularly old women are treated its among the best.

I hope this woman has some grown up male children and grandchildren because if she has that young man might find out what being kicked to the ground feels like. If it was my wife our boys all four of them would hunt that guy down and he would be eating through a straw for the rest of his life.
