To teach fourth grade narrative writing requires much more than notebooks and peer conferencing. As the teacher, it is imperative to share a prompt, and model an already written narrative to accompany it. Together, explore the necessary parts (character, setting, problem), two ways that were tried to solve it, and the final workable solution for the plot. Sharing their writings is no doubt important, but unless students understand what to look for, then peer conferencing is meaningless.

The frequent use of the word "Um" is very distracting and detracts from the content's value. While the information provided could have been useful, the delivery style make it challenging to engage with the material. In the end, I couldn't bear to watch more than the one minute mark.
