This video is all bout the the lifes of Sable Starr & Lori Mattix also known as baby groupies! In the eraly 70s girls partied with rock'n'rolls elite and had countless sexual encounteres & affairs with rockstars. They were just 12 years old when they started experiencing the dark side of the golden era of rock'n'roll. Being blinded by their fame & glory these girls were intimate with rockstars in their 20s and 30s like Iggy Pop, Jimmy Page, Davied Bowie and Mick Jagger. Their lifes inspired "Almost famous" groupie Penny Lane and their stories are beyond anything one could ever imagine.🌟

I'm also discussing the role of the media as well as the general fact that these girls were intimate with grown men and therefore groomed & sexually assaulted.

Please note that this video might be triggering to some of you so if you feel like this topic isn't somehting you'd like to know more about feel free to skip this video. I also want to clarify again that the point of this video isn't that you should burn all your records by these artists but that I think it's important to raise awarness & know what was going on back then and that there was a down side to the golden era of rock'n'roll music!✨

Stay groovy,

xx Emma🌟

These guys had their pick of women, and they specifically CHOSE to go with minors. There's a name for people like that.

Lori talked about being kidnapped like that was cute. These rock stars literally got away with things the average person would be locked up in prisons for. Where were these girls parents at? If I was going to nightclubs and having sex with grown rock stars at 12, my parents would lock me in my room until I turned 18, and have these men prosecuted. This is crazy!!!!

I love the term "dating" as if Jimmy Page actually took Lori to the cinema and candlelit dinners. 🤣

Thank you for putting this video out!! Let's not put these men on any kind of pedestal based on their behavior. Pedophilia is tragic and pedophiles should be taken out of the human herd.

Even for that time, they were regarded as children, which makes everything worse. Lori said Jimmy used to lock her in his hotel room, guarded by security, sometimes for days, and forbid her of meeting other people (especially men) and partying with him. When he arrived from his wild nights, he expected her to be readily available for sex. Gross.

“The problem with groups who deal with rape is that they try to educate women about how to defend themselves. What really needs to be done is teaching men not to rape.”

This is why it gets harder and harder to separate the art from the artist. From the music industry and beyond; it's quite scary how famous people can abuse their power.

Thanks for making this vid, subscribed.

Back in the mid 70s to late 80s I worked for one of the biggest concert promoters in the country, on the production side. Worked with the biggest bands of the time. We had a strict policy of no minors back stage unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
One night I was hanging outside the backstage door of an outdoor facility getting some fresh air and young girl was there, maybe 15, 16 or 17, and she kept sideling up to me getting closer and closer. There were 4 or 5 cops, who knew me, about 15 feet behind us at the door watching the whole thing. She finally ended up right next to me and I said hello? She asked me what she had to do for me to get a backstage pass. I told her "get a note from your mother". She got a bit huffy and took off. Headed back inside and the cops grabbed me laughing and said well played, we're going to write that line down.

Overall what disappoints me is that the press saw these children with these rock stars and for the most part, didn’t intervene. They introduced these young, exploited girls to the world as “it girls” who were living the life of sex, drugs and rock and roll, while turning a blind eye to the fact that they were schoolchildren. The press was just as complacent in the abuse of these girls as anyone else.

This was an amazing video and I’ve just subscribed. I can’t wait to watch more from you!

This is a really important point. I wonder how come nobody cared. I honestly didn't know they were that young and that only shows, as you said, that people only point out the good things about that time, so thank you for opening peoples eyes!

thank you so much for talking about that issue, people who know about it either ignore it/normalize it or completely cancel the rockstar...

I am most shocked by the fact that the parents of these children apparently had no problem with it.

They were 12-13.

That isnt some amazing rock story that needs to be told on youtube, that is a legit story that needs to be told to police.

Jimmy Page is one of my favorite guitarists, but learning about this taints his gift. The media has always been perverted in their idiology. Thank you for the video.

These girls were so young. My mom was born in 1956 and was a teen growing up in 70’s SoCal. She did party with rockers and did drugs as a teen. It’s sad how people turned a blind eye towards this

It begins and ends with the parents.

Criminal rock stars, crass media exploitation, commercial gain by clubs and an apathetic society aside; it takes one hell of a lot of abandonment of parental duty to accomplish the feats of those children.

It just seems like the parents get a feee pass here…don’t let them off!

Really, a well said warning to some women who might be triggered by the topic. When I first heard of this, my heart was broken, I couldn't believe my favorite band were that awful. When digging around the internet, I found a picture I've never seen anywhere else, where a very famous lead singer was 'hugging up against the back of a young girl who hadn't even developed breasts, she was smiling at the camera and looked 10 to 11. I have 3 daughters, and work with young girls, the face is what gave it away. She had no make up and sure didn't look like the groupies we normally see with them, very young, but with lots of makeup short skirts and high heels. No this one looked like she walked off the schoolyard. I'm not sure I've ever gotten past it, I don't want to.

Great video, you did a nice job. I was born in 72, I missed that decade being too young but by far it's my favorite era and influence on me the 70's and 80s was music for me . But I'm glad I am able to see the other side and not just the all positive side because it's definitely important to know what your potentially glorifying and that the rock heroes you hold so highly really don't belong there.

Thanks for this video!! A really intriguing side of rock history that most people into the culture choose to ignore, or just straight up don't know about. It's very sad to me because nowadays Sable is dead and Lori is just a "normal" woman working a boutique; they got nothing from being exploited and having their childhoods ruined.

Ugh… my daughters are 13 and 15. This makes me sick. Even though I knew about all of this before, it just hits harder having girls this age 🤬
