Great video, simple and concise. A couple of quick corrections and additional information: At 0:37, the older model should be the watch on the right-hand side, though this is correctly noted at 2:16. The new model has a case thickness of ~12.5mm, not 12mm. As a side note, the watch weighs approximately 165g (~5.8 oz) and measures about 53mm from end link to end link.

I bought my 216570 (polar) in 2020, right before the new one came out. The added power reserve would be nice but I don’t really feel like I missed out. Both are great.

Most important bit is new version now has AR coating on entire bottom crystal unlike prev only models to get this is new 41mm sub and exp2.

My first Rolex was a polar 16570, and my second was a polar 226570. I wore the 16570 on a modern bracelet with glide lock and SEL. I chose the 16570 because its compact case was less obtrusive and its hands and indices were less ‘cartoonish.’ I upgraded after 6 months because its power reserve couldn’t withstand a weekend off my wrist, and resetting the watch was downright unpleasant compared to a modern 42mm (I also own a Zulu time 42.) The bigger movement just feels more robust. After owning the 226570 for 2 months, the 16570 now looks dainty on my 7.5 inch wrist. So power reserve and legibility won out on my wrist, but with a smaller wrist, I feel my preference would sway opposite.

Love the video. I don’t think there’s a smoother transition the 216570 bracelet looks like jewelry better taper. The hands are a million times better on new polar and dial looks identical to naked eye. I own the 216570 and love that there’s no need for upgrade due to them being so minimal.

How did you miss that the older reference has a gloss dial and the new one has a matte dial. Massive difference and important one?

The new wider bracelet fits the case more gracely than before, but this improvement does not make up for the loss of the floating hands. 216570 black dial remains my favourite.

Well, good filmography, but you missed out a good chunk of changes:

The crown guards are altered slightly and the crown is different,
AR coating on the underside of the whole crystal,
Altered case geometry at the bezel line, and
Altered bezel geometry.

Dang, as someone in the market for this watch now it’s a tough call, and extra $2k ish for double the power reserve, and the matte dial is sweet but seems like a lot of people like the 21 🤔
