I tested cheap hall effect keyboards (and found a gem)

How much does a good hall effect keyboard have to cost? I tested 7 affordable HE keyboards, most of them below $100.

Some constructive criticism.
It would really help if you would put the name of the product you are currently talking about on the screen. I know a lot of people do know all these keyboards but also a lot don’t. And it would be nice to see a final overview of products, pricing and maybe some Summary. 🙌🏼 Thank You for the video!

Got the MCHOSE Ace 60 Pro, it's a good keyboard. One thing I noticed that was missing in the web software was the ability to map the print key. It was mapped to Fn+Y, you weren't able to map it to something else. So I tinkered around and for those of you who want it, here is the hex code you can send over ERP4 (excluding all the padding 00s) to map the Fn+Backslash/Pipe key to print 55 09 00 AF 03 54 02 00 10 00 46

I have the Magger 68 HE and just like yours, the software was pretty buggy UNTIL I updated the firmware to the latest version, now it works without issues (even with SOCD).

I am amazed at how fast HE keyboards went down in price.

I think you need to test the Nuphy Air 60 and 75 HE, they are advertised as far superior to wooting in pure gaming performance, especially in 0.1ms delay vs 0.7ms wooting, and I don't think they are lying, I and many others would be very happy if you did tests of this model, since Many people have already done the tests of the Nuphy Halo HE, but no one has done the Nuphy air HE yet, I'm going to buy this keyboard the other day and sincerely hope for you! 🙏

Awesome quality of tests, keep up the pace! We are waiting for MAD60 and FUN60 tests from Monsgeek, as they are the most budget ones

FYI the mchose ace 60 pro in SEA/china market is like 21$(the base version is like 13$), kinda show how over price wooting plastic keyboard are, not to mention the bridge 75 he for 100$, which is a full metal keyboard(full metal keyboard at a price lower than that exist for a long time, they just increase the price by 10-20$ for the he version, which is what it should be, rather than like 170$ for a very plasticky he keyboard with bad stab and bad sound like some brand).

bro he is such a good reviewer, the testing is just better than most other creators, I subbed because he made unmatched monitor reviews but after that IEMs, Keyboards wow. Most trusted channel for me along with Optimum when it comes to peripherals.

Just wanted to say thanks for the in depth technical reviews in this video. A lot of other youtube reviews are just them listing out the specs without any testing whatsoever, and especially so for these cheaper keyboards.

Just wanted to say that Dareu very recently released their version of HE keyboard, called A75HE, it comes with ceramic keycaps, and it sounds damn near as good as regular custom mechanical keyboards.

Great video! But one thing that you could test in the future is latency when a few keys are held down and a new key is pressed. This is the area where the biggest difference will show. I'd be willing to bet some of these keyboards would show up 50-100+ms latency in this use case. In 2022 i tested 2 cheap aliexpress HE keyboards from a friend and they both had this issues, even older wooting keyboards will show a few ms more latency in this test. These newer boards might not have this issue but no one is testing for it so we can't know.

wow.... Nuphy sounds so much better than all hall effect keyboards out there, so creamy and stock from the manufacturer?
its unbelievable!!!

I just got my magger 68 yesterday I’m really loving it. I was running into the same issues until I updated the firmware and software, good thing they are going to transition into full website for their software. Changing the keycaps to nicer double shot key caps really made the board sound better too.

I ordered the mchose ace 60 pro before watching this video and was glad to see it featured here and was rooting for it to perform well and was very happy to see it did!
The only thing I'd criticize about your review is that you say it starts at 50$ which is true, but that is the standard version and the best version which you also tested here and really only makes sense to buy costs 70$ + shipping in most cases, so it's not quite as budget as it's praised.

For anyone wanting a premium feeling HE keyboard that nearly as good as Wooting but significantly, I highly recommend any of the Nuphy options (Air65/75, Halo65 and Field75) or the Keychron K2 HE. The Nuphy ones are great for primarily gaming, but the Air65/75 are low profile and the Field75 is definitely a strange layout and maybe.. an aquired taste lol. The Keychron K2 HE is the king of value at $130-$140 with the only major downside being Keychrons long and expensive shipping. Youll likely have to contact support to get them to ship after a couple days like they're supposed to do, but man its worth it... The K2 HE with a wrist rest and coiled aviatior cable plus ~$15 shipping to the US will run you around $200, possiblely less vs a Wooting with similar options being closer to $300 with a full plastic case. Wooting has 10/10 software, but both Nuphy and Keychron have at least 9/10 software and much better value. Keychron's isn't very good for modding with limited switch options, but it's amazing out of the box and easily the best sounding HE keeb I've ever heard. Two best value options rn imo

What happens with the web based utilities when a manufacturer no longer wishes to host the servers? If there a way to reconfigure the keyboard offline or am I stuck with the last config?

Pardon my ignorance but why so worried about downloading a driver? I mean, we download drivers all the time for our PC components.
