Porsche Variable Valve Camshaft Actuator solenoid

Testing a defective Solenoid
UPDATE: this solenoid is part the variocam system for the variable lift function.

When applying a 12v battery to the solenoid, it should actuate the solenoid instantly to alter the oil passage and activate the hydraulic lifters.

It’s a simple magnet really, if it’s too slow to respond, or return, this would be a problem.

Some asked about the polarity, and I will say I’m not sure, 5 years ago, I wasn’t as knowledgeable and experienced as I am now, it could be that the solenoid was slow to respond because I connected the battery wrong !? I’ll never know until I try again.
You try both ways.
I have spare ones, once I test them, I will report back.

I'm kind of in the same situation chasing a possible Variocam issue.

What are you using to actuate the valves? Do you know the polarity of the actuator connector?
