Update:I'm on chapter 126. I got a bit occupied with Vagabond. I'm close to finishing it and will return to Vinland once I'm done.
Final edit: (probably) I finally finished the manga and other than a few nitpicks, it's really good. The praise is certainly deserved.

Vinland Saga is in and out top 5 manga of the century. A brilliant character arc with Thorfinn, and amazing world building and side character development. Really well thought out philosophies as well
