This is a great video - the use of the on court circles and showing the angles that you are covering are very useful and makes the positioning on court for split step easier to understand.

Yes!!! This is the one I've been waiting for. I feel like a sitting duck most times I'm near the net.

Will, this is incredible! You definitely have talent to teach the game. I’m YouTubing for 7 years and seeing teaching tools no one’s done. Keep it up ! I’ve got to think of a worthy question for you.

Very good on the geometry, although at one point you said 'it widens' when it narrows, but I would dispute your assertion that the best shorts for the receiver are into the corners. His best shots to an S&V player are to flip it or slice it down at his feet. Depth has no meaning when the ball isn't going to bounce.

You definitely can't worry about getting passed as you close into the net. Tactics is about controlling the percentages and taking away the high percentage shots and leaving only the tails of the shot distribution curve to your opponent. That may mean getting passed 1 out of 4 trips to the net or put another way; you win 3 points for every 1 you lose. That's equivalent to a 40-15 outcome.

Thanks for the great instructional video

Now it would be interesting if you covered a bit of challenges associated with S&V in Doubles.
The geometry of the court changes a lot with Server's partner at the court.
Maybe separate video? Why not?

Very helpful for singles. Would you please do a simular video on serve and volleying in doubles. Where one should go towards the net depending on the serve and how to position yourself against the opponent’s possible returns.

Thank You Will, Great video. You made it so easy to understand and follow. I might think with different type of serves applied to each target position would really enhance the effectiveness of the point.

this is great. As I recover from a torn calf, I hope to get back onto the court w/ S&V by the end of the year. For older players, do you feel S&V is less wear/tear on the body? I admit I get tired serving and then hopping back behind the baseline for playing the usual way.

Great video! A few questions:
Which target is safer for the server? Green, yellow or red?
Should I avoid a flat serve when I S&V, because the ball should come back faster?
When I'm feeling tired, should I bet on S&V (to end the point faster) or avoid it?

I assume prior to serving, the server plans to serve and volley. The decision to serve and volley is not determined at the moment of impact
