Added Benefit of a Roadside Firewood Stand

When running a side hustle firewood hobby, one way to move wood out is through a roadside firewood stand, however sometimes a roadside stand can also bring wood into the woodyard.

When I was coming home yesterday there was a cherry tree fell across the road we hade some high winds for about 20 minutes. A pickup truck just missed it so I walked home and grabbed my chainsaw and my 17 year old grandson then had a couple more guys jumping in while I was cutting the tree up so traffic could get through. Then the neighbor up the road with his saw jumped in also we had the tree cut up and removed in 10 minutes. Then went back up and got almost 2 lads of wood. It was a double cherry tree. The state trooper showed up after we got it all cleaned up.

Heh, Same thing happens to me, except it's the maintenance guys saying "Hey- I just cut down an X and dumped it all out back if you want it." Usually it's the ubiquitous maple or honey locust that's all over the neighborhood, but I've gotten a nice score of crab apple that way. Not to mention Ash. My ears perk right up when somebody says free Ash. And if that maple just so happens to be of the Sugar variety... I'm ALL over that.

When you get to be known as the firewood guy, you often then become the solution to someone's "problem"- if that problem involves getting rid of some wood!

Maybe after the announcement on FNL show. You should ask for some woodhounds podcast topics and be ready to write them down. I am a huge fan of podcast but honestly the last 2 weeks have been a struggle. The advertising one was just a repeat of all things Joe has said many a times and then this week's was just...I don't know what it was really? It wasn't firewood related.
Trying not to be negative and I know it would be hard with weekly show topics but maybe the hounds could help!👍 Stay cool (literally stay cool) and be safe!🥶

That is a nice pile of wood, i have also had a few people ask if i wanted some wood i went and looked and it was nothing but a big pile of brush junk they thought they could get their yard cleaned up for nothing it was just plain junk weeds and branches needless to say i said no

You should try stacking wood up against the shifty tree and have a nice little curved firewood stack!
