#DidYouKnow: Calculus, originally called infinitesimal calculus or "the calculus of infinitesimals", is the mathematical study of continuous change

For those of you mocking Nora. Remember she is preparing for JEE Adv. She just started early.

My Guess: According to Nora, the steps to perform to reach the floor are infinite.
Similarly, if we take an example a a regular scale(Ruler) of 30cm long, the distance between the opposite ends is 30cm.
But, we know between any two real numbers, there are infinite numbers. Hence, there are infinite numbers between opposite end of the scale. But, the scale is finite as we see it. Hence, the steps to be taken are infinite. But, in bigger scale, the steps are finite.

Nora's sibling: Can I play with the ball after you

Nora: Yes after this one last bounce...

I studied calculus in my predegree and degree classes. But no teacher has taught the basic ideas like this. Fantastic . Greatful to u teacher

All these years I thought calculus was a group of formulas used to calculate unwanted derivatives and integrals. Thanks for making these videos

I find it so much easier to learn math concepts when I understand what they can actually be applied to in real life. Stuff like this is a life saver.

3:30, as for the Zeno's Dichotomy paradox, it's convincing that there must be an infinite number of steps for the ball to reach the ground and for each step, there is some time required, hence, it gives that infinite time is required for the ball to reach the ground but as we notice, as the distance halves at each step, so does the time. It's similar to starting with 50 and adding 25, then 12.5, then 6.25, and so on as we keep adding half of the previous number to reach 100 but the thing is, we never will because the amount we are adding gets infinitesimally small with each step. So the conclusion is, that there are infinite rational numbers between two integers and that's why the ball reaches the ground.

For me the most difficult part of calculus is to remember to write +C after integrating a

*The speed at B*
We know,
*_V^2=U^2+2AS_* _[V=Velocity at B_
_U=Intial Velocity_
⬇ _S=Displacement_ _A=Accelaration due to Gravitation ]_

_In this case:-_
*U=0 m/s*
*S=0.5 m*
*A(g)= 9.8m/s^2*
If we add this value to this eqation:-
*V^2=_0^2+2×9.8×0.5*
=0+9.8
=9.8
V^2=9.8
V=√9.8
*_V=~3.13 m/s_*

*_So the final velocity, i.e, the velocity at point B is V=~3.13 m/s_*

I used to find calculus boring until today i discovered this video. Thank you so much for explaining us the essence of calculus. Now it does not seem boring any more after knowing it's purpose.

Differentiation and integration is the most important part of physics as well as maths.
Currently I am in 11std and on first day of class my teacher told me above line. Thanks for clearing my doubt. I really love to watch the videos made by this channel. I enjoy watching them.
THANKS🙏🙏🙏🙏
