Just a couple of days ago I went to watch your discussion on KF about his passing. My sweet girl, Kiki, passed a few days ago on the 10th and it’s been hard. Watching that episode from a few years ago helped.

This announcement feels fortuitous. I hope wherever these little ones are, they can still feel our love.

My dog just passed. I said my final goodbyes today and I was trying to find something to distract and help me cope.
I'm so thankful for this post. I've been watching Greg and Porty for so many years and their relationship was one of the many convincing points that led me to get my boy Chomp. Greg talking about Porty being his son and Porty being the one that everyone knew echoes what it's like for me and my boy. Everybody at work knew Chomp more than than they knew me and we preferred it that way. He was everybody's friend. We were on our adventure together.
I'm sorry. I just want to say I'm thankful for this post. I'm so grateful to Greg and Porty for sharing their relationship with us. And congrats to Greg for being able to get such a meaningful, personal project to the finish line and being able to share it with us. ❤

Thanks for sharing Greg, I felt the pain when Porty passed and this year my own 15 year little family dog passed away and I couldn't help but relating the experience and pain to Porty. It's a small thing but the grief is real and seeing you process and grow helps.

My dog is in his last days :( had a quality of life check and blood work done and he’s good in that sense but he’s old and facing old dog issues which are natural. 18 years and my terrier mixed dog is facing early stages of kidney disease and can’t hold his bladder anymore. He isn’t eating and is very picky so we treat him to in n out patties and salmon skin. I don’t know how it’ll be after he passes but it’s nice to know we have the time to prepare for it. His names Hubert and he’s only known one family, never been to the pound or rehomed and I can say he’s lived a good life. I don’t know what humans did to deserve dogs as companions but we are lucky that they love us.

Oh Greg ❤ The love you have for a family pet is so strong. Letting them go is truly devastating. I had to let my dog go a couple of years ago, still can’t watch old pictures without crying a little.

A lot of people have movies that they watch when they know they need a good hard cry--I of course do, but when I know I need a good hard cry, the first thing I go to is that damn KFP episode. I think it's the hardest my wife has seen me cry (when it first went up), up there with watching Marley and Me, and when the Chester Bennington news broke.

I’ve lived with dogs, cats and bunnies and the loss never gets easier. I adore dachshunds- have had them in my family for generations -and I lit up any time Portie made an appearance during your In Review series. To quote Tim “Porty is the best of us”.

Absolutely love this Greg. I've been lucky enough to have some children's books published as well, and it's such an amazing feeling when you hold it in your hands for the first time. The main thing I've learned is that kids really remember the words of the book, so what you have written will not be forgotten. Can't wait to read about Ben the Train Driver!
