If the world gets warmer more much of Russia and Canada becomes inhabitable than what would be lost to rising sea levels.
There’s an assumption the current temperature is optimum but, the earth could sustain much more and larger life forms when it was warmer, the Cambrian expansion was when there weren’t any ice caps at all, the northern seas were 25 degrees and had carbon dioxide concentrations around 4 times higher.
By the time global warming would be a problem even china would be zero carbon country. At the current rate of technological progression.

Maybe "scientist" should Talk about temperatures changes along geological history, It is part of natural dinamics. We need to know the % of human responsability in global warming, locally.
