Unfortunately, my mother passed away about three years ago. She is out of sight, but NEVER out of mind!

When my daughter prepared for her trip to Korea for studying, she said "although i am far away for you but you will be always in my mind. Out of sight, but not out of mind". But when she reached there for a time, she was getting familiar with the life there and got some new friends, she forgot to call home. Out of sight, out of mind. However, for me, she is still in mind every second. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Please correct if there is any mistakes. Thank you so much for ur interesting lesson.

in turkish we have a similar expression. "gözden ırak olan gönülden de ırak olur"; which means the one who is away from the sight is also away from the heart. I think it can also be expressed as "out of sight out of heart".

In Brazil, the idiom: out of sight, out of mind means "what the eye doesn’t see the heart doesn’t grieve over", lol.

My sentences:
I always break my diet when my girlfriend is far from me, out of sight, out of mind! ;D
She lives so far, the absence makes our hearts grow fonder though.
