When you hear about bioluminescence, your mind probably jumps to deep-sea creatures like the angler-fish. In this factsma short, we briefly answer are humans bioluminescent?

This visible light differs from the infrared radiation — an invisible form of light — that comes from body heat.

Faces glowed more than the rest of the body. This might be because faces are more tanned than the rest of the body, since they get more exposure to sunlight — the pigment behind skin color, melanin, has fluorescent components that could enhance the body's miniscule light production.

Easy to find out one way or another. Go caving. Turn off your lights. If it's there, you'll see it, the same way you'll see a spark if you snap a mint in half.

Well, these are called aura's and yes if you train your eyes to relax and focus, you can see them. It's like a full body halo. There is more light around our heads, but there's still light around our bodies.
