One of the reasons I enjoy this anime/manga so much. Tanjiro understands a lot of them didn’t ask to become demons and unlike his sister can’t just sleep to survive. Doesn’t mean he want end them just that for many it’s a mercy and they will be free from what only in their finale moments they realize is a curse.

i love how instead of sparing her like some other anime he killed her because she killed many but he killed her peacefully it really shows the kindness tanjiro has and we start to realize that the demons was once humans with real human emotions this scene was perfect

Tanjiro has a soft spot on demons that have a backstory. even though the demon dont have one.. He knows what demons feel. And he made it painless to never hurt her in a painful way.

It's really symbolic actually, her ability was to manipulate others using strings, she is a manipulator yet she was the pawn, she was the weak one the one who was trapped in this fake family, I think they actually did this to show how true tanjiro and nezukos bond was to highlight the theme in the final battle along with the ideals and reasonings behind both sides motivation. This simple scene has so much behind it.
