China is progressing fast! What do you think about their progress with Tiangong and their spacewalk milestones an how long do you think it will be before this is shipped to the launch pad?

Thank you for toning down the frequency of ad and L/S interruptions. Makes it much easier to get lost in your content! Fingers crossed next starship launch is successful 🤞

You always say "let's dive right in" yet I have yet to see you anywhere near a swimming pool.

That motor control center might also have some distribution points for what is known as "instrumentation" basically low-voltage data wires hooked up to the many sensors needed to tell computer controls what to do to the motors. Sometimes it is in a separate bunker, but usually they just put it in separate cabinets in the same "modular" yet another gizmo borrowed from oil and gas industry like the draw-works for mechazilla!

Good that SpaceX are finally going with the flame diverter system. I was thinking that the spinner was a wormhole entrance. :)

Sls per cost launch is over 5 billion, not 2. The original cost per launch in 2017 was 2.15 billion and the program has taken 2-6 billion out of nasas budget every year since 2017 with no launches added.

So weird that the Senate is draggin it's feet on Isaacman ( a really solid pick IMO ) when they breezed through the confirmation hearings for some seriously sketchy nominations already.

Really appreciated the section comparing timelines and hardware reuse. There's a quiet revolution happening in how space systems are built to evolve, not just operate.

Time to make a pinhole camera!

Thanks for clarifying about the spinning cloud. A thought the the crazy scientist at the Adam collider was opening a portal to release monsters from another dimension. 😱

Every Head of NASA should have completed at least one moonwalk or one spacewalk from now on🌑

The beaming of Microwave power to earth was first, to my knowledge, talked about in the book The High Frontier by Gerard K. O'Neil in the 60's. The book spoke of things we could have done then, if the US hadn't wimped out after Apollo, and thus we are now 50+ years late. Still, better late than never.

The book also spoke in detail about large orbit space stations which could hold 100's, if not 1000's of people, using centrifugal force as artificial gravity.
