👉 Learn how to graph linear equations written in standard form. When given a linear equation in standard form, to graph the equation, we first rewrite the linear equation in slope intercept form, (i.e. in the form y = mx + c, where m is the slope and c is the y-intercept). Next we plot the y-intercept and using the slope, we can determine the rise and the run of the required line and then be able to plot the next point from the y-intercept. Finally, we draw a straight line passing through the two plotted points.

Alternatively, we can determine the x-intercept and the y-intercept of the standard form linear equation by subtituting y = 0, then solve for x and substituting x = 0, then solve for y respectively. Recall that the x-intercept is the value of x when y = 0 and the y-intercept is the value of y when x = 0. After obtaining the values of the x-intercept and the y-intercept, we plot the points on the coordinate plane and then draw a line passing through the points.

"Treat fraction equally, kindness and respect"
Does the fraction respect us humans? They are just making us suffer 😔

Man, i'm trying to brute-force through a college intermediate algebra class after having paid 0 attention in highschool. this video is a lifesaver, lol- cheers my guy

Thank you so much! I've been stuck in this forever and I'm starting to get it a little bit. Keep doing what you're doing, it's awesome!

I'm a homeschooled student and my algebra book is stressing me out with all the fractions they ask me to graph. This was a really helpful video. I also love the way you slowly explain each step to your students. It really helped me to understand it better. God bless!

4:34 that noise scared the life out of me but thank youuu so much I don't know why they didn't show us how to do this in my lesson

THANK YOU! I wasn’t paying attention in class when this was thought to me and I was clueless on the worksheet they gave us. Needed this!

Thank you! This was my only problem. So, to repeat what you taught, just turn the fraction into a decimal and then graph it like that, right?

This was great! Thank you so much! I had no idea what to do when the y-intercept is a fraction. You rock!!!

But what if it's like this -> y=(4x-8)/5? How would one graph an equation like that? Do the same thing or no?

thank you, i graduated high school 8 years ago and barely know how this thing work, college even didn't take any math

Thank you so much! My teacher was glitching on zoom so I couldn't get this very well, you saved my grade!

cant you also just solve x and y separately. so make 1/3x =3 to get9/1 and then same thing with y, so -2/3y=3so you get -9/2 for your y and then out that on the graph. You still end up getting a positive line but the x coordinate is just placed on 9 at the beginning, so i think at the end you would get the same graph, right? its just another way to do it

Thankyou. This was really helpful.
I have a question though, 2:23
Instead of writing "3 - 1/3x" Why is it "-1/3 + 3" ?
I keep replaying it but I dont get it
