Ride the Hogwarts Express trough Scotland!

Any Harry Potter fans out there? 25 years ago, on June 26, 1997, the first novel of the series was published in the UK. Did you know that you can take a ride in the famous Hogwarts Express? Muggles call it the Jacobite Steam Train though and it chugs along through Scotland.

The train yes, locomotive no. The Jacobite refers to the train and its charter. The Hogwarts Express herself and coaches was generously provided and given to the Harry Potter production by those operating the charter. I knew what you meant by the "actual train" though. Go to the North Yorkshire moors where you can go to Hogsmeade Station :)

Hogwarts express AKA olton hall is in a railway museum I hope the train returns to steam soon

The train is the same, but the locomotive is not. It’s actually a LMS class 5mt 4-6-0 that was given the name “Jacobite”. The engine in the movie is GWR hall class 5972 “Olton Hall”, which is similarly sized to the Jacobite. The reason why the Jacobite is pulling the train and not 5972 is because 5972 is on display at Universal Studios London, and is currently not operational.

The actual train that's used to pull these coaches across the viaduct is called

LMS Stanier Class 5 4-6-0

Nah nah olton hall is the actual train used in the movie its a great western hall class locomotive.

The only wrong this I noticed is the train, the Hogwarts express was a Hall class and this is a black 5
