China should put 3, 000% tariffs on medicines shipped to the US. A pill goes from $16 to $500.

China should impose tariff on American cars for sure. Or else it will send a message to the west that they can do what they like without any repercussions

China doesn’t need tariffs. People in China actually prefers Chinese brand cars because they are simply well made and has lots of features compared to American or Japanese cars. Take a look at people’s reviews of byd and you will understand why

Why should Europe 'follow' the US in the first place?

China should Levi all exports too the US. That will drive up inflation. Then rebate the Levi to companies who are effected by reduced sales.

Politicians need to understand that "...imposing tariffs is NOT a trade policy, it is but signaling to the world that it can't compete". Tariffs do serve a purpose, but only for a limited duration. What purpose doe sit serve? It gives you a bit more time to get your house in order so that it is competitive again. Judging by the evidence, the US doesn't have coherent industrial policies, especially the ones to do with cars, and green energy devices.

Big and fuel intensive is American cars are well-known for. These are the cars the Auto Union is good are making. The Auto workers don't want the music to stop for them when EV arrives. Joe Biden and Trump also promise them that their jobs would be safe...as long as they are in power.

If there is no viable alternative policies behind the tariffs, US autos and green energy industry would die of a slow death...eventually.

The paradox Chineses gov facing, is that even without retaliation on tariff, the legacy imported cars are sky falling in China anyway, except the luxuary car market is insensitive with price. This policy is just a posture.

I am not in any way in favour of China but I fully expected China to answer in kind if USA decided to impose tariffs. There is no such thing as a one way meal.

A definite and mutually Necessary Tariff agreement between China and USA is Inevitable...

Europe is in branding deals w/ Chinese car companies to build Chinese car in China w/ Europe car make names. This avoids sanctions. Don’t just blame China. Blame the EU companies reselling Chinese cars. What else are they suppose to do?

The US has been imposing a 25% tariff on all imported pick-up trucks for decades now, which is why you see so many Fords and GMCs on American roads, but so few pickups from Japan, South Korea, or European countries. That the few Toyota trucks you see on the road can actually exist given that 25% penalty is remarkable.
