If you're thinking of travelling to Vietnam or already visiting Vietnam then check out my quick guide on the weather here. Vietnam has a tropical/sub-tropical climate that varies as you move through the country. Whilst always hot in the south, the north has more distinct seasons although temperatures rarely get below freezing there. Torrential rain, storms, floods and heat waves, Vietnam is a country of weather extremes so it's always a good idea to plan your trip around the changing weather here.

Hello😊I'm planning a trip to vietnam during mid July. I know its not the perfect time to cover Hanoi & Ho chi minh. But will there be heavy rainfall? If so, will I be able to go to halong bay?😊🙏🏼TIA

Thank you for this video. I'd like to discover the south of Vietnam but I'm in such a dilemma, on one hand I wanted to avoid the big rains but on the other, I dream of enjoying my favorite beautiful tropical fruits in abundance (including my beloved durian lol)... Does anyone have a suggestion ? Maybe a particular month where the fruits are cheap and sweet and the weather not too gloomy ?

I spent on and off 10 years in HCM city then moved to Nha Trang for 15years until last year. Looking back moving out of HCM was the right move for me. I checked out Quy Nhon occasionally while living in NT but I see Da Nang would be a better move. I like looking back at HCM through your videos. Thank you!

Nicely explained. We were planning a trip at beginning of February but then I wanted to check for Christmas time to use the holidays. But seems Hoi An (wanted a full moon night there) might be tricky in Christmas due to weather.

Will be in Da Nang 3 months, from the 14th of Jan untill the 9th of April. Hopefully will be warm and sunny! Last time I was two weeks from the 20th of January 2020 and it was nice weather. 26-27'C during the day and 20'C night time. Little rain a few evenings.

I'm trying to plan a 2-3 week tour through all of 3 areas. It's tricky. Coming from Canada. I think I'd be okay with the heat, but I don't want to hit flooding or monsoons if possible. Might be hard to avoid.

Nice video. I'm looking at spending time in Vietnam from end of April until end of May. Should I start from the South first (Ho Chi Minh) and then finish in the North (Ha Giang Loop). I was initially thinking the opposite way?

Then probably Phu Quoc in early June before my next destination. Thank you!

Hi! Thanks for the informative video! I am thinking of travelling to hanoi, hoi an, hue and ho chi minh mid to late august. Since there is a lot of weather variation, would you not recommend any of these place during late August?

Great video. Sounds like there isn't really one particular month that would be good for travelling the whole country? Ive already booked my trip for March thinking that would be the best compromise to travel north and south vietnam?

If we want to cover all 3 regions in 10-15 days, should end of feb-mid march be the best time?
