I love how Hannah is so careful with her words. Hanna when Idina's timing was off be like "I think she was rushing there a little bit." but Idina was off the timing.

I feel so bad for Maria Lucia (the Danish singer). I can't understand why they would give her that part considering how pregnant she was. She has an incredible voice and is a musical theater powerhouse in Denmark.

Idina's earpiece wasn't working correctly which caused her to not be able to hear the orchestra, sitting in a different building, at all times. The Danish singer was 4 or 5 months pregnant at the time that was why she struggled a bit with her high notes

Aurora's vocals are flawless and yet she's pushed to the back and not given a real spotlight where people can appreciate her voice fully. :(

Could we get a reaction to some of Aurora's live vocals? Either a compilation or her cover of god is a woman is beautiful. It Happened Quiet is also gorgeous.

I just feel so bad for Idina when she performs live. Her voice got wrecked from Wicked and she’s still got these belts to do

Fun Fact: Willemijn Verkaik, the German (and Dutch) Elsa, who is actually Dutch, was performing as Elpahaba in Germany, the Netherlands, London, (Drumroll please) Broadway :)

yes, Maria Lucia (the danish singer) is known for adding cries in her singing- she even adds subtle ones in the actual movie version. But I do also think it's more than usual- since they gave her a real hard part of the song, considering she is pregnant, so it must've been harder for her to sing.

also: if you want the example I'm talking about- "Ud i et ukendt land" during the 1st chorus, the 3rd "into the unknown" she adds the vocal cry i was talking about :)) (also later in the song aswell!) + her vocal cries in "show yourself" (on the lyric: "all of my life")

Aurora's version of this song is really interesting since she really sung it in her own style, making the song much more soft and enchanting, it is a nice change (her recent songs and performances are really nice too if you'd be interested in checking them out!)

Have you seen Panic at the Disco doing "Into the Unknown?" Absolutely incredible! I'd love to see you react to it 🥰

At 5:59 is Willemijn Verkaik. She played the role of Elphaba from Wicked in 4 countries (Netherlands, Germany, England (West End) and the United States (Broadway) and in 3 languages (Dutch, German and English). She's also the voice and singing of Elsa in the Netherlands and the sining of Elsa in Germany! She is amazing!

Hearing the song in German kinda slaps, idk why but I think the accent works with the song lol

I love for you to check out Aurora's music on here!

Edit: she also does a full cover of Into the Unknown which is absolutely stunning

There's so many "vocal coach reacts" on YouTube now. But honestly I feel like Hannah is the only one I enjoy because not only does she enjoy the stuff she reacts to but she really really knows what's she's talking about.

Some vocal coaches really seem like they're just spouting anything the viewer wants to hear. But Hannah really gives of the energy of just really wanting to help the viewer understand how she hears things.

I'm hesitant about this performance because wasn't something wrong with Idina's mic or she was sick?
(It was her in ear peice, her timing was off)

The Danish singer at 6:19 is Maria Lucia Heiberg Rosenberg and she is actually a really famous and appreciated musical actress in her country, she also was the Danish Elphaba in "Wicked". The sound she did was added on purpose, you can hear it also in her studio recordings of "Frozen" and "Frozen 2" and it's actually a very difficult technique to learn, for what I know, but definitely not a "random crack". I'm not sure if it is correct to call it like that, but it is a sort of nordic jode/yodel.

Another close example of a singer adding that kind of sound during her interpretations is Sonam Wangmo. You can find her videos here on YouTube. She is very used to this kind of thecnique, using it also more than Maria Lucia actually. You can listen to it especially during the song "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau" (always here on YouTube), but not only there, there are plenty of live interpretations by Sonam Wangmo using this technique.

In addition, fun fact: Maria Lucia has been the very first pregnant woman ever getting on the Oscars stage!

Great reaction video! About the danish girl (the one with the “voice cracks”), I am guessing that she is doing it on purpose, as that “cry sound” also is in the danish recording (WHICH I REALLY RECOMMEND LISTENING TO!)
She is truly an incredible singer, and I cannot stress how much she inspires me.
Ps. She was pregnant during this Oscar performance, I do not know if that changes anything:)

I feel like every time I listen to Idina perform live, I'm on a roller coaster of whether I like her singing or not! Some of her belts are a little squeezey or shouty but then the next one is absolutely gorgeous.
