True story:
I am Hispanic and my name is very Hispanic sounding. My college offered a lot of scholarships and are always interested in diversity so I figured I would try to apply for a few. A few months pass by and I end up winning 5 scholarships, I figured it was because of my grades and because of my major that I was working towards. When I talked with the donors, I pretty much got the idea that it was because I was Hispanic and because of my background instead of what I’ve actually accomplished.
