Russia never stole the atomic bomb, the Russians were way ahead of the Americans with the H Bomb, thanks to Andrei Sakharov and Professor Igor Tamm, together with a well organized Atomic institute. Andrei Sakharov even invented a mechanism the Americans never had. By 1949 Russia had the H Bomb, while America still only had an atomic bomb.

The Atomic bomb was not a eureka moment. Soviet nuclear scientist were also on the race. Like the AI race of today. I remember watching an old Russian documentry. The immense pressure and odds before making one. Not a glorified one, but gives a doomed and tension one.

The shutting out of Britain to access to the atomic bomb, after a very considerable contribution to the Manhattan project, could be construed as theft. However Klaus Fuchs did both the USSR and GB a favour in passing on information..

Atomic bomb was developed by the germans, but AH did not want to use it.
Russia did not steal it either.
The weapon was tested on Japan, by the ones that ruled and still rule the Usa. Don't blame ordinary citizens for its use.

I read a book, in the atom family, wrote by the wife of Entiko Fermi. Says, many scientists, who made atom bomb in America, they disappeared, and appeared in Russia, who were socialist minded.
