We've just unboxed the new Rob Allen Tuna Rollergun. Wayne Judge covers the possibilities open to spearos with this new, top of the market speargun.

This new rollergun is nothing to be disappointed about. Despite the new technology they have delved into, it’s a high quality gun that you’ll want to get your hands on. The rollergun allows you to exploit the low weight of a smaller and sturdy gun whilst boasting the same power as a much larger gun giving you more diversity in the conditions you can hunt in. Achieved through using 100% of the barrel length to power the shaft, it’s the most length efficient design available in spearguns.

One of the best characteristics of the gun is its robust design consistent with all Rob Allen products. It has double ceramic bearings tested to 15% more effective than other roller guns. The classic Rob Allen attachment style is included, with a large bolt going through the barrel where the powerbands attach. It’s a tuna gun, with a stainless steel line release, a 7.5mm spear and rigged and ready with dyneema. It comes with a loading assist which hooks to the bridle, which gives you a chance to rest and grab the rubbers to load them at the notch.

This fantastic gun is available 4 lengths of 80cm, 90cm, 100cm, 110cm and 120cm lengths available in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne stores and online. Possibly Rob Allen’s best gun, don’t let yourself miss the chance to try out this impressive design.

Mehhh. MARES CYRANO EVO HF. Or a SEAC CACCIA no messing around with loading and rubbers knots snaping off. pump it up once and you never need to pump it up again. I also own roller guns but pneumatics are much less hassle to use. I end up takein way more shots with a pneumatic that l would with rubber guns as the loading is so quick.

To everybody buying the ceramic bearing bs. Just buy regular bearings.. not that much of a difference in powerloss and certainly not 15%. Closer to 0.15 % more efficency. Ceramic bearings only make sense when looking at parts that are under load for long periods of time i.e engines motorcycles enduro bicycles etc. Not meant for this application only a gimmick
