How about we just wash the shelf? As that is just as quick as putting contact paper on it and it doesn’t create more waste for landfill 😳. I like a lot of your stuff and advice for getting more time and decluttering but this tip is not a good tip 👎🏻

I usually clean my fridge. Helps to remove dirt and bacteria from inside of my fridge.

The glass shelves allow light to the lower shelves. The shelf liners block the light!

I use the non-adhesive lining. I can then remove, swish in my sink, dry, reline my shelves.

I like to use the plastic placemats they sell too. Easy to wipe and take out🎉

Did that years ago. Wait until you take it off and clean the shelf again. Omg, the filth that got trapped under there was horrific!
Use a few paper towels if you need, but the grime that build under these is disgusting

you can use a fridge shelf liner too. Much easier to take out and wipe clean.

Like most of the commenters, I too like & prefer washing the glass shelves, however, I do cheat a little. FIrst of all the contact paper isn't practical 🙃 bc of the sticky adhesive to remove .It's extra work n unnecessary. Its like watching paint dry.I use 🍕 pizza delivery boxes. Unsoiled by pizza oil of course. I cut it to size & simply put it on the shelf w/ the solid greyish interior of the box visible. I don't have crumbs to deal with, usually just some type of liquid . If the 🍕 pizza box gets wet/stained or too ugly to be seen, I simply remove it to recycle bin, wipe down the glass& interior of fridge w/mild bleach solution & order another pizza (lol). No plastic goes into eco system just thin cardboard (paper) or adhesive to fuss with & it's better than cheap, -- it's FREE. Been doing it for years. It works for me😉 . Let me know if you try it & do or don't like it.

You could just use the table mats from dollar tree cause the contact paper leaves residue.

I use non- adhesive liner. It could be taken out with complete ease.

No. It blocks the light. You have to wipe it anyway so why not just wipe the glass shelves. Sorry. Absolute 'No!' on this one.

If you leave it in too long get yourself a razor to scrap it off. I do the same removing bugs from the car "exterior" windows before pulling out the glass cleaner.

They do have plastic liners, but you could also use the plastic place mats too.

Don’t use adhesive. They sell plastic fridge liners. Or use paper towels.
