Wario Land 4 S-Hard 100% (1:39:25) [WR]

My latest attempt at WR.

I have been speedrunning this game for a couple of years, but this marks the first time I share one of my runs online. I must admit it's a little intimidating and I would be lying if I didn't say it was difficult playing through the game with the knowledge that every little mistake would be caught on camera.

I made a lot of small, stupid blunders across the run, most of Sapphire Passage being particularly horrid. Despite this, however, I managed to do this run deathless, which was something I have tried to accomplish for some time. This is a pretty crude attempt, and it both can and will be improved by myself and other runners of the game.

This record has been sleeping for a while. I started speedrunning this category actively two years ago when it was previously set. Since then, I've been practicing hasty play and mapping out a route that works on S-Hard. That being said, I imagine that this record will, too, be beaten at some point by someone that doesn't screw up Arabian Night lol.

I Absolutely ADORE the Old Wario Platformer games... i really wish Nintendo had kept making them. i love Pizza Tower as well, but it's just not the same. its more Sonic than Wario.

Love seeing one of my favorite games ever totally crushed! I've played this game many times so I really appreciate the strategy that goes into getting 100% in S-Hard mode. I could tell you knew exactly what gems, coins, and diamonds to collect and saw how you even managed your hearts so you could exit each level with just over the 10, 000 required points. And on top of that, you had to nail each boss, especially Catbat and Aerodent, to avoid losing the boss chests and blowing the ability to get 100%. It's different from an Any% run in a really cool way. Amazing job.

This was the first game I played in my own console. Game Boy Advance was my 1st console ever and came with this game. It's so nice to see such a nice run like this, and also in S-Hard difficulty which I never reached as a little kid. It was amazing to discover a couple of new hidden places I didn't discover long time ago. GGs on the run dude!!! It was really fast and brought me so many good memories😁

Awesome run!!! Does super hard mode put the treasures in different locations? I remember them being easier to find

Really cool run! My favorite parts were definitely the crouch dodges you did to avoid cool breath transformations and that one cycle Aerodent! I had no idea Aerodent only retreated if you hit the bear, that’s a great thing to know for later. I would’ve considered him to be the absolute worst boss in the entire game on S-Hard if the attacking range was time based, now he’s only marginally the worst one lol
