Hurry Up!! - Wario Land 4 (Restored)

Wario Land 4's "Hurry Up!!" track, with fully restored samples and modern mixing. This is a fan-made restoration project of the track using the game's MIDI data. Most of the instrument samples ripped from the game and restored.

While most of the sounds were manually restored, the drum samples was ripped from its original source: the Roland Sound Canvas and the Roland TR-808, with the clock ticks belonging to Sound Ideas' Series 1000 Sound Effects Library.

I hated this part as a kid, but as an adult I can see that its uniqueness really sets it apart from other 2d platformers of the time and is actually brilliant.

Something about hitting that switch, and the crazy music just makes you wanna escape as fast as possible. The escape scenes were always my favorite part of the game.

One thing i love about this track is that thematically, at least to me it makes total sense. If the volume and complexity of it equals stress in this case, then it makes sense as to why its so loud at the start. It goes from the immediate "oh f*ck i just set a bomb off" to "but thank god i have 3 minutes to get out" where it gets quiet before ramping back up in volume to represent the stress of worrying about getting out in time with less than a minute on the clock. Its my 2nd favorite song in the game lol
