Farmers clash with police ahead of EU summit | DW News

While progress was being made at the European Union headquarters in Brussels, the mood outside was very different. Protesting farmers lit fires in the streets of Brussels city center and clashed with police. The city also came to a standstill as farmers blocked roads with their tractors. They are angry about rising costs and bureaucracy and want the EU heads of state and government to take action.
